What actually reduces belly fat is the same thing that reduces fat everywhere else: a sustained calorie deficit, enough protein, resistance training, decent sleep, and lower stress, held consistently for weeks and months. Why spot reduction does not work
When you do a hundred crunches, the muscles directly under your belly fat do get a workout. What does not happen is your body reaching into the fat cells sitting right above those muscles and burning them first.
